Kelsey Publishing Ltd is a UK based, privately owned publisher of special interest and enthusiasts’ magazines and books. We have nearly 100 employees with offices in Peterborough (where the motoring and lifestyle titles are based) and Cudham, Kent - our head office and where most of the agricultural and rural interest titles are published.

The company was incorporated in 1989, led by the current Chairman, Gordon Wright. Gordon had previously owned a design and print company and was one of the three founders of Practical Classics, launched in 1980. It was the sale of this magazine which left Gordon looking for a new venture when he started Kelsey Publishing. Finance Director, Steve Annetts has worked with Gordon since 1985 and joined Kelsey at the outset. Gordon’s son, Steve Wright, joined the company in 2003, leaving a career in the City for publishing. He was working on the launch of Practical Poultry within a few weeks, now Kelsey’s fastest growing magazine. He became Managing Director in 2005. Gordon continues to play a pivotal role in the company, and remains the Editor of Stationary Engine magazine.

Tractor & Machinery, launched in 1993, is the world’s best selling tractor magazine, with over 650,000 copies sold in 2008 exporting to over 80 countries worldwide. The magazine has a loyal band of subscribers, a significant number of whom have been with us since the launch and attend our two annual tractor shows. Our success with Tractor & Machinery led on to further successful launches in this sector, notably Classic Plant & Machinery, Old Tractor, Tractor & Farm Trader and, more recently, Classic Massey Ferguson Enthusiast.

In the competitive motoring sector, Classic Car Weekly, 4x4, Custom Car and Car Mechanics are all long-established and continue to perform strongly. We’ve become specialists in producing one-make motoring publications for real-world enthusiasts with leading titles including Jaguar World Monthly, Total BMW, Modern MINI, Performance French Cars, VW Golf+, Land Rover World and Triumph World. In addition, our commercial vehicle titles - Classic Van & Pick-up, Classic & Vintage Commercials and Classic Military Vehicle outsell their rivals and have a hugely loyal readership.

We also have more than 50 books in print. Recent successes include The Wild Food Year Book, Puddings Down Memory Lane, Avoid the Vet, Classic Car Buyer’s Guide, The Glory Days of Heavy Haulage and Trucking Down Memory Lane.
